THE CREW, THE TEAM, THE GROUP: ALL MAD ABOUT “ONDA SOLARE”
Teachers, students and young researchers at the University of Bologna have experimented, have designed and are working to make the soul of the electrical – electronic vehicle. The Technical High School of Maranello (Modena) with its study course on prototypes has shared its experiences and has developed lessons on zero-emission mobility. An innovative entrepreneur of Reggio Emilia (RE) has designed and built (and donated) the active wheels for Emilia III. A long list of small and large companies has offered materials, components and technological ideas.
This is how Emilia III incredibly started out and took shape, a new solar car, worth a lot both in economic and technological terms.
In the workshop of Grafite Compositi in Castel San Pietro (Bologna) after normal working hours, for months and months, a group of volunteers (workers, craftsmen, technicians, engineers, contractors, employees) have designed, developed, laminated, cured and finished carbon fibre products.
Meanwhile, the team reasons, thinks and tries to invent ways to find resources, assistance, materials, components, how to raise money to finish the prototype and then ship it. All of this to reach Australia and participate in the competition, bring her back home to then sign up for the next Solar challenge in South Africa.
